10k Whale Festival Fun Run
The Whale Festival Fun Run is a trail event of around 10 km that runs from the Old Harbour to the New Harbour and back. The course starts above the Old Harbour, follows a road with coastal views to the New Harbour, and returns along the Hermanus Cliff Path to finish at Gearing's Point.
Tickets are available online only and close on 30 September 2026 or when the event reaches capacity. As the event takes place in peak whale season, participants may see whales in Walker Bay during the route.
Prizes are awarded to the top three men and top three women with cash and trophies: R1500 for first place, R750 for second place, and R500 for third place. All finishers receive a medal. Participants will also receive a goodie bag and can expect multiple refreshment stops along the route. Coca-Cola, water, and snacks are provided at the finish area.
The event includes a range of lucky-draw prizes such as shark cage diving tickets, whale watching experiences, and accommodation stays. Random race photos will be available on the event Facebook page. Ticket and goodie bag collection is offered the day before at the festival grounds, and early morning collection before the run is also available.
