10k Whale Festival Fun Run 2026
The Whale Festival Fun Run is a trail run of around 10 km that follows a coastal route in Hermanus. The course starts above the Old Harbour, proceeds along a road with coastal views to the New Harbour, and returns along the Hermanus Cliff Path to finish at Gearing's Point.
Tickets are limited and available online only; ticket sales close on 30 September 2026 or when the cap is reached. Entry includes a goodie bag and a finisher medal for every participant. There are multiple refreshment stops on the route and Coca Cola, water, and snacks available at the finish.
Prizes and rankings are awarded separately for men and women. Cash prizes and trophies are given to the first three finishers in each category: R1500 for first place, R750 for second, and R500 for third. Additional event features include random race photos posted to the event Facebook page and numerous lucky draw prizes such as shark cage diving tickets, whale watching experiences, and accommodation stays.
Ticket and goodie bag collection is available the day before the race at the festival grounds, with an early morning collection option on race day for those not staying overnight.
