Hermanus Trail Run
The Hermanus Trail Run is scheduled for 26 to 28 February 2027 in Hermanus. The event runs across two days and uses trails in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve and along Walker Bay Beach.
Distances and basic race details:
- 35 km 1500 m elevation, 4 refuel stations, fee R1200
- 25 km 1390 m elevation, 3 refuel stations, fee R1000
- 15 km 790 m elevation, 2 refuel stations, fee R650
- 18 km 30 m elevation, 2 refuel stations, fee R650
Day 1 takes place on the Fernkloof trail network and Day 2 is a beach front route at Walker Bay. The program lists refuel stations for each distance and elevation gains for the courses.
There is a compulsory kit list that includes a charged cell phone, waterproof jacket, food items, at least one litre of hydration to start, space blanket, headlamp, whistle, a GPS device or the AllTrails app, and a reusable cup. The event is described as green and enviro friendly; no water sachets or paper cups will be used. Participants are asked to bring their own cup. Parking is available opposite the Fernkloof entrance on Contour Street. Headphones, dogs, flu and litter are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
