About the race
The Hermanus Trail Run is a two-day trail event held in Hermanus from 26 to 28 February 2027. It uses natural terrain in and around Fernkloof Nature Reserve and Walker Bay Beach, with start venues listed as Fernkloof Nature Reserve (day one) and Walker Bay beachfront (day two). Parking is available opposite the Fernkloof entrance on Contour Street.
Distances offered:
- 35 km Trail, elevation 1500 m, 4 refuel stations.
- 25 km Trail, elevation 1390 m, 3 refuel stations.
- 15 km Trail, elevation 790 m, 2 refuel stations.
- 18 km Beach run, elevation 30 m, 2 refuel stations.
The event includes pre-registration on the days prior to each race and lists Dutchies, Grotto Street, Voelklip as an event location for day two arrangements. Organisers require a list of compulsory kit such as a charged phone, waterproof jacket, minimum 1 litre hydration at the start, food, space blanket, headlamp, whistle, GPS device or the AllTrails app, and a reusable cup. The event follows a green policy with no water sachets or paper cups; participants must bring their own cup. Items not permitted include headphones, dogs, and litter.
