US Road Running - Midlothian
The US Road Running event at Midlothian Mines Park offers organized races on a paved course. The event features two primary distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Participants meet at the Headstock located next to Loch Lothian. The course follows an out-and-back format measuring 1.56 miles. Runners completing the 5K distance finish two laps of this out-and-back route, while those participating in the 10K finish four laps. All participants are subject to a course time limit of two hours.
Registration must be completed online prior to the event, as there is no option for on-site registration. Packet pickup is conducted at the event location starting 30 minutes before the race concludes 10 minutes prior to the start.
The event encourages a festive atmosphere where participants may wear costumes. A group photo is taken at the beginning of the race, and an award is given for the best costume. All finishers receive a themed medal upon completion of their race. This event is part of the US Road Running Race Series, allowing participants to accumulate points throughout the season.
