10,000 Meter on Van Meter
The event is held at Kroger Youth Soccer Complex, 2583 Van Meter Rd., Winchester, KY 40391, during September as part of National Recovery Month. The observance highlights behavioral health awareness and supports the message that recovery is possible for individuals, families, and communities.
The program includes the following distances:
- 10K
- 5K (walk only option)
The course is an out-and-back route on asphalt that runs through the rolling hills of Clark County. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both the 10K and the 5K. Additional prizes are offered to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.
Age groups are: 11 and under; 12-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 and over.
Participants receive a free T-shirt and complimentary fruit, snacks, water, and coffee. Early packet pick-up occurs on Friday at College Park in Winchester during the Rally4Recovery event, where a registration table is available.
