10 & 20 Mile Training Run - Grand Rapids

This is a free supported training run offering two distances:

  • 10 Mile Training Run
  • 20 Mile Training Run

The event takes place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a meeting area near 475 Lake Michigan Drive NE and a new start/finish in the northernmost section of the GVSU DeVos lot off Winter Street, just south of the YMCA. The route uses parts of the marathon course and runs through large sections of Millennium Park; participants may be directed to run additional laps around the GVSU block to reach the exact distance.

Organizers listed include the University of Michigan Health-West Grand Rapids Marathon and Team World Vision. The event is free; organizers request registration to estimate attendance. No race packets, shirts, or entry fees are provided.

Facilities and on-course support are noted: YMCA restrooms are available after they open at 7:00 am, though the Community Room will not be used due to construction. Aid stations are located near the restroom around mile 2, off Butterworth at about mile 3.25, and on the trail just east of the cul-de-sac between miles 5 and 6.
