Balmoral Christmas Aquathlon

This event on Friday 18 December 2026 is an evening swim-run training session held at Balmoral Beach and organised by the local triathlon club. The format alternates swim and run laps: a swim lap followed by a run lap is repeated three times, with a final swim lap to finish.

Course details:

• 150 m swim per lap on a four-lap swim course starting south of the Balmoral Baths
• 1.0 km run per lap on a three-lap run course running parallel to the shore and entering Balmoral Oval

Participants may enter as individuals or in teams of two. Teams must physically tag each other in transition when changing legs. Time handicaps will be applied to participants; handicaps are decided on the night. Participants wearing Christmas gear may receive lenient treatment for handicaps.

The session is run as a training event with entry fees of $6 for members and $10 for non-members. After the aquathlon there will be a social drink with food at the Clubhouse. The event is described as open to everyone. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
