Event details
The Garigal Trail Event is scheduled for 6th September 2026 at Acron Oval, St Ives, NSW. The event uses a marked 5 km trail loop through Garigal National Park. It is a timed event with live tracking and instant results after finishing. Aid stations will be available on course, and first aid services will be provided by St John’s Ambulance. Toilets are located within 20 metres of the event area. Catering will be available for purchase on site.
Race format, distances and logistics
The main format is a 10-lap challenge on the 5 km loop, with a 45-minute cut-off per lap. Runners who miss a lap may rest and rejoin on a later lap. Participant items and awards include a participant medal, free merch for entrants, and prizes for top placed male and female.
Distances offered:
- 20 km - 4 laps of the 5 km loop
- 40 km - 8 laps of the 5 km loop
- 50 km - 10 laps of the 5 km loop
Registration details are listed as TBD. The event operates a no-plastic policy; participants should bring refillable water bottles. There is parking on nearby residential streets and limited public transport, with buses stopping near the oval. Ticket transfers are permitted with a $20 administration fee.
