Blue Canyon Trail Run
Blue Canyon Trail Run takes place Saturday, December 12, 2026, as part of the Socorro Trail Running Series. The event offers two trail distances:
- 18 miles
- 6.2 miles (10K)
Registration fees range from $65 to $85. All participants receive a meal from the local food truck Cubish, free event photos, and an event shirt. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to the maintenance of local trails and to the Socorro High School Cross Country team.
Awards include a custom trophy and an REI gift card for overall winners in each category. Winners of the 18 mile race will receive a $50 REI gift card, and winners of the 10K will receive a $50 custom trophy.
The race start and parking are at the Socorro Rodeo Grounds.
Aid stations are provided on course. 10K runners have water and electrolyte stations at miles 1.7 and 4.5. 18 mile runners have water and electrolyte stations at miles 1.7 and 16.3, plus full aid stations at miles 6.2 and 11.5.
The organizer states that only a partial refund will be given for cancellations or delays caused by extreme weather or public land closures occurring within the week before the event, since registration fees go toward nonrecoverable pre-event expenses.
