HKYFS Pumpkin Run 5K, 2M & Kids Run
The Pumpkin Run on 10/25/2026 is a community fundraising event at Haddam-Killingworth High School in Higganum, Connecticut that supports Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services. Proceeds fund counseling, substance abuse prevention, youth development, family programming, juvenile restorative justice, and social services.
The event includes multiple running and walking options:
- 5K road race
- 2 Miles walk not timed
- 0.25 Mile kids fun run
- 0.5 Mile kids fun run
- Kids fun run without listed distance
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the 5K and 2 mile walk and $20 for the kids runs. Registration windows are provided for each event and include earlier opening and closing dates; the 5K registration opens 06/01/2026 and closes 10/17/2026. The organizer notes a price increase on 10/20/2026 and a free T shirt for the first 300 registrants or those registered by 10/13/2026.
On the day there are community vendors, family games, crafts, and activities. Finishers receive custom medals. A costume contest awards prizes for best adult, youth, and dog costume with a requirement that dogs be friendly and remain on leashes.
