About the race
Run Off-the-Grid is a remote trail event at 574 Snake Creek Road, Mattawan, ON, Canada, held on September 26, 2026. The course is 100% trail with no roads or pavement and is based on a 12.5 km loop.
The loop winds through varied terrain, including single track sections, old forest logging roads, rolling hills, steep climbs, rocky technical sections, creek crossings, a mud bog and a gravel pit with a sandy dune descent. Each loop is run in the opposite direction on successive laps.

- 50 km relay four runner team, one loop per runner
A hike option is available for the 12.5 km and 25 km distances. A post-race meal is served and includes a choice of harvest chicken stew or curried lentil soup, buns, pasta salad and leafy green salad, with vegan and gluten free options; additional meal tickets are available during registration. Participants are asked to bring their own dishes and cutlery as no disposable options will be provided.
On-site accommodations are offered by Nature's Harmony and include log cabins, yurts, geodesic domes and glamping. Camping is available at the event site; campers and trailers are welcome, there are no hydro hookups, and amenities include compost toilets, eco-showers, a hot sauna, group fire pits, swimming in the Bay and a play area. Camping fee is CA$20 per person per night and children of race participants camp free.
Charitable and sustainability details: CA$5 from each registration is donated to the Mattawa Food Bank, a shoe collection for Soles4Souls is organized in partnership with Bioped Footcare (North Bay), and remaining proceeds are reinvested into Nature's Harmony Ecolodge. Bib transfers and transfers between race categories are permitted until September 23, 2026. Race Roster offers an optional refund protection program; refunds are not provided outside that program.
