Distances featured at the 2026 festival included:
- 7.3 km Nocturnal Outback (age 13+)
- 7.2 km Sunshine Outback (age 11+)
- 1.35 km Kids Outback (age 5-11)
- 18 km Big Outback (age 15+)
- 28.2 km Bigger Outback (age 18+)
- 56.5 km Biggest Outback (age 18+)
The festival offers two three-event series: KANGA (7k, 7k, 28k) and DINGO (7k, 18k, 56k). Series entries include automatic entry into those component races and crowns for the fastest overall male and female in each series. Completing the 28 km or 56 km events qualifies participants for specified future ultramarathon distances.
Mandatory items include a collapsible cup, flask or drink bottle for all events; a head torch is also mandatory for the nocturnal 7 km and the 56 km first loop. Remote water drops and a fully stocked main aid station support runners on course. Camping is available at a per-site fee, with a wild, unserviced camp area and a community campfire event on Saturday night. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
