About the race
Trail des Cômes is a mountain trail event held at Montagne de Val-Saint-Côme in Lanaudière on 26 September 2026. The event combines short, intense vertical challenges and longer forest trail formats and directs its fundraising to the Programme d'aide aux médecins du Québec (PAMQ), with 100% of donations remitted and a fundraising objective of 50 000 $.
The event offers several formats and elevation targets. Distances and elevation options include:
- 300 m of positive elevation, one vertical ascent
- 600 m of positive elevation, two vertical ascents
- 900 m of positive elevation, three vertical ascents
- 1500 m or more, five ascents or more, solo or teams of 2 to 5 in relay
- 15 km forest loop on the Sentier national, about 1000 m of positive elevation
- The ultimate format combines the 15 km forest loop and the 300 m vertical challenge in sequence
Time limits apply per format. About 300 bibs are available. GPX course traces are provided for the challenges for use on watches or navigation apps. The event emphasizes repeated group departures and mutual encouragement along trails rather than individual long solo outings, and it focuses on altitude gain as the primary performance measure for the vertical challenges.
