Run in the Hearts of Trondheim
Trondheim Maraton is an annual running event organized by Nidelv IL and Bedriftsidretten, held every first weekend in September. From 2026, the event features a revamped schedule covering two days. Saturday functions as a dedicated family day with activities such as the Children's Mini Marathon. Sunday serves as the primary race day for the longer competitive distances.
The program includes a diverse range of distances to accommodate different levels of experience. Participants can choose between individual races or team competitions. The courses for the major distances are officially certified. Training plans for 5 km, 10 km, and half-marathon are available to help participants prepare for their specific goals. Participants have the option to change their chosen distance until the day of the race, provided there are spots available.
The available distances and race types include:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10 km (BDO-MILA)
- 5 km
- Team Marathon (Men, Women, Mix)
- Team Half Marathon
- Children's Mini Marathon
The event aims to promote community and public health. Improvements to the course and capacity have been implemented to support a high volume of runners, with recent editions reaching over 14,000 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
