Event Overview
The Stockholm Marathon is one of Europe's largest marathon events, taking place in the Swedish capital. The course covers a distance of 42,195 meters and is known for its scenic route through various central districts.
The race starts on Östermalm and passes through several prominent areas of the city, including Vasastan, the waterfronts of Kungsholmen, and the Stockholm City Hall. Participants run through the historical center of Gamla Stan, passing the Royal Palace, before heading into the natural landscapes of Djurgården and the district of Södermalm. The finish line is located at the Stockholm Stadium, a historic venue that hosted the 1912 Olympic Games.
Participant Information
The event is open to runners who are at least 18 years old. For the 2027 edition, this includes individuals born in 2009 or earlier. The race has a maximum time limit of 6 hours and 30 minutes, with four specific checkpoints along the course that runners must pass before set times to continue.
