About the race
The Marathon de Rimouski is scheduled for 13 September 2026 in Rimouski, with its 22nd edition continuing a series that began in 2002. All races start and finish in the area of Place des Anciens Combattants and follow out and back routes that run along the St. Lawrence River. The courses are largely flat with a maximum elevation change of about 10 metres on the marathon distance. The marathon course is measured and certified by Athletics Canada and is sanctioned at the OR level by the Fédération Québécoise d'athlétisme; times recorded may be used as qualification times for major marathons such as Boston and New York.

Event services include chip timing (SportStats), on-course refreshments and toilets, a professional medical team, a technical race shirt, a post-finish meal and refreshments (chocolate milk, banana, water), thermal foil blankets at the finish, medals for all finishers, free downloadable photos, a free bag drop service and a downloadable participation certificate. The event publishes cash prizes for top finishers by gender and overall, with specified prize amounts for each distance and additional bonuses for new course records. An Elite program offers complimentary registration and accommodation plus expense allocations and performance bonuses. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable except under the organizer’s transfer policy and specified deadlines; changes of distance are permitted under stated conditions and fees.
