International Peace Marathon 2026
The International Peace Marathon (MMM) takes place in Košice, Slovakia. The course consists of a city circuit based on the concept used for the 1997 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. It is a flat asphalt course with a total elevation gain of 74 meters and a difference of 16.35 meters between the lowest and highest points. The marathon distance is a double-loop course with a World Athletics and AIMS certificate.
The event offers several competitive disciplines:
- Marathon (42.195 km)
- Volvo Half Marathon (21.097 km)
- MMM Relay (42.195 km, split into segments of 12 km, 9 km, 12 km, and 9 km)
- Handbike (20 km)
- Inline (20 km)
Participation in the Inline category is limited and requires fulfilling a qualification limit of 50 minutes for the 20 km distance. The Marathon and Handbike races are open to participants aged 18 and older. The Half Marathon requires a minimum age of 16, while the Relay and Inline race are open to those aged 15 and older.
The time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours. All disciplines start and finish in the zone located on Hlavná Street, except for the Handbike discipline, which finishes at Námestie maratónu mieru. Participants receive a medal upon finishing within the time limit. Information regarding results and splits is provided via chip technology and SMS.
