About the race
The Budapest Maraton Fesztivál is a large-scale leisure sports event held over two days in the Hungarian capital. The festival features a wide variety of distances to accommodate different levels of physical preparation, ranging from short family runs to the full marathon. Participants run through scenic areas of Budapest, including several World Heritage sites and locations with panoramic views.
The event structure is divided into two days:
Saturday distances: The first day focuses on shorter distances and family activities.

- 5 km
- 3×2 km relay
- 2.3 km and school runs
- Walking and family runs
- City tours in various lengths (S, M, L, XL)
Sunday distances: The second day is dedicated to longer distances and endurance running.
- 42.2 km (individual marathon)
- 42.2 km in pairs or 4-person relays
- 30 km
- 21.1 km (half marathon)
- 14 km
The course is supported by numerous musical bands and spectators to motivate the participants throughout the route. Participants receive a finisher medal and a technical running shirt.
