Zombie Night Crawl - 5K and Kids Run
The Zombie Night Crawl is an evening, Halloween-themed running event in Bridgeport, West Virginia, held in October 2027 with the exact date to be announced. The course uses the walking path around the baseball fields located across from the CityNet Center at 400 Forrester Blvd.
Distances:
- 5K (three full laps)
- Kids Run (one lap, 0.87 miles)
Participants in the 5K start with three lives represented by flags. To be counted as a finishing human, a participant must cross the finish line with at least one life. Medpacks will be placed in zombie-free areas just off the path; a participant may take a flag from a medpack only if they are missing at least one flag and may not take one if they still have all three.
Rules for humans include not knotting flags, not holding onto flags when a zombie attempts to take them, not picking up flags from the ground, and not taking flags from other participants. Zombies aim to take flags but must not touch or obstruct participants, and may walk or jog but not run or sprint.
Awards for the 5K include overall medals for the top three male and top three female finishers, new age-group medals, and t-shirts distributed after the race based on remaining lives. Kids Run finishers receive medals.
Registration opens July 1, 2027 and closes October 1, 2027. The 5K registration fee is $35. An online facility waiver is required. The 5K will be timed by Pike Street Bikes. No same day registration and no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
