Zero Dark Ultra - Chase the Night
Zero Dark Ultra is a nighttime endurance event staged at the Phase One training grounds in Spokane, WA. The course is a continuous 1.56 mile loop on dirt and wood chip trail. The training grounds use multiple nearby venues including the Reardan Cross Country track in Seven Mile, Riverside State Park, and Mt Spokane State Park.
The event offers run and ruck formats with multiple timed options, and a Tiny Titans Ultra loop that allows parents to run alongside their children on a single loop. Ruck participants must use a pack or vest that does not exceed 45 pounds.
Participants are expected to be largely self-sufficient. Organizers provide one semi-stocked aid station with Tailwind Endurance Fuel, NeverSecond C30 Energy Gels, 1st Phorm protein bars and energy drinks, water, and assorted snacks. Required gear includes a headlamp, running gear, food, water, and electrolytes.
Check-in is scheduled the day before and on race day at the race location. There is designated parking and areas for personal tents. All entrants receive a Phase One training tee; 100 mile finishers receive a custom buckle and other finishers receive a patch.
Volunteers receive entry discounts or free entry based on hours served: 50 percent off for six hours and full entry for twelve or more hours. There is no refund policy in effect. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
