ZERO DARK ULTRA
ZERO DARK ULTRA takes place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Spokane, WA at 12099-11601 West 7-Mile Road. The event offers a 24-hour run, a 12-hour run, a 12-hour ruck and a Tiny Titans Ultra. It is presented as part of the Phase One Mission and is described as a bare-bones, self-supported event intended for reflection and resilience while running or rucking through the night.
Course, logistics and requirements
The course is a continuous loop of 1.58 miles on dirt and wood chip trail. Ruck participants must use a pack or vest that does not exceed 45 pounds. There is one semi-stocked aid station at the start/finish in the main parking lot; runners and ruckers are encouraged to be self-sufficient. Medical support is on site. Required gear includes a head lamp, running gear, food, water and electrolytes.
Check-in is at the race location on Friday, August 28 and again on Saturday at the race location. Pre-race briefings will be held for the 24-hour event and for the other events. Parking is available in designated spaces and there are designated areas for personal tents; crew tents are allowed in a designated section authorized by the trail owners. A waiver is required, no refunds are offered, and entrants receive a Phase One T shirt and a finisher patch. The Tiny Titans Ultra allows parents to run side by side with their children for one loop.
