ZERO DARK ULTRA
Zero Dark Ultra is a multi-duration running and rucking event in Spokane, WA, organized by Phase One Missions. Participants complete as many laps as they can on a continuous 1.56 mile loop.
Event options include:
- 24 hour run
- 12 hour run
- 6 hour run
- 1 hour run
- 1 hour ruck
- Tiny Titans Ultra where parents run one loop alongside children
The course is a continuous loop over dirt and wood chip trail surface. The event uses Phase One training grounds and nearby areas, including the Reardan Cross Country track in Seven Mile, Riverside State Park, and Mt Spokane State Park.
Ruck participants must carry a pack or vest not to exceed 45 pounds. The organizers describe the event as a self supported invitation to move through the dark with an emphasis on resilience and mutual support.
There is one semi-stocked aid station offering Tailwind Endurance Fuel, NeverSecond C30 Energy Gels, 1st Phorm protein bars and drinks, water, and snack options. Runners and ruckers are encouraged to be self-sufficient and bring required gear such as a headlamp, running gear, food, water, and electrolytes.
All entrants receive a Phase One Training tee. Finishers receive a patch, and 100 mile finishers receive a custom buckle. The event currently has a no refund policy and volunteer discounts for qualifying hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
