Zero Dark Ultra, Spokane, WA
Zero Dark Ultra is a self supported overnight ultrarunning and rucking event held at Phase One Training Grounds near 12099-11601 West 7-Mile Road, Spokane, WA. The event uses a continuous 1.58 mile loop on dirt and wood chip trail as the course surface.
Event options are a 24 hour run, a 12 hour run, a 12 hour ruck, and the Tiny Titans Ultra. Ruck participants must use a pack or vest that does not exceed 45 pounds. Tiny Titans Ultra provides an opportunity for parents to run side by side with their children on a single loop.
Support features include one semi-stocked aid station at the main parking lot, on site medical support, and designated tent and crew areas in the parking lot as authorized by the trail owners. Participants are encouraged to be self sufficient; required gear listed includes a headlamp, appropriate running gear, food, water, and electrolytes.
The organizer notes a minimal, reflective format described as bare bones and self supported, intended to emphasize night movement, resilience, and mutual support.
