Zanfel Orienteering Race # 3
The event takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Upper Area picnic area, Waubonsie Park, 2585 Waubonsie Park Road, Hamburg, IA 51640, US. It is the third race in an orienteering series and is organized as an obstacle course style orienteering event.
The course distance is 5 Miles and the format combines running or hiking with map reading and following written instructions to find checkpoints. Maps, instructions, and punch cards are handed out at check in. Any assistance with maps is available at check in. Organizers note the Free App Handy GPS as an option for navigation.
The listed registration fee is $40.00 per person; fees include shirts, medals, drinks, and snacks. Registration is reported as closed. Participants are expected to be self supported and to carry small packs for water and snacks. Suggested items from the organizer include map cases and cell phones. Park permits are available at the park entrance.
Divisions are offered for Solo competitors and for 2 to 3 person teams in coed, men, and women categories.
