Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales (UTYD)
Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales (UTYD) is a trail event held in the Yorkshire Dales with racing options over 50K and 25K, based at Grassington Devonshire Institute on 17 October 2026. The 100K race is cancelled for 2026.
The courses pass landmarks such as Malham Tarn, Buckden Pike and sections of the Dales Way. Terrain includes steep valley climbs, runnable trails and boggy moorland. The 25K is a fixed route supplied as a GPX file and must be followed. For other courses the GPX shows the most popular line but participants may make route choices between checkpoints if they respect out of bounds areas and event rules. The route will not be way marked so map reading and navigation skills are required.
Each participant carries a tracker with live GPS coverage. Aid stations provide water, hot and cold food and drinks at named checkpoints. A hot finisher meal and an UTYD gift are provided. All checkpoints must be visited and some checkpoints are indoors to allow marshal checks.
A comprehensive minimum kit list is mandatory. Required items include a fully waterproof coat and trousers, map and compass, survival bag, a minimum 500 kcal emergency food supply, head torch with spares, mobile phone, personal first aid, warm layers and 500 ml water at the start and when leaving each checkpoint.
