Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD)

The event takes place on 17 October 2026 in Grassington, starting and finishing at the Grassington Devonshire Institute (48 Main Street, Grassington, BD23 5AA). The race distance is 50k with total ascent of 1260 m. The minimum age for this event is 20 years.

Route and race details

The course passes Malham Tarn, Buckden Pike and sections of the Dales Way. The terrain includes runnable trails and boggy moorland. The event is self-navigated: a GPX file is provided, there are no way markers and there are few marshals, so map reading and navigation skills are required. Participants may choose routes between checkpoints within the event rules and out-of-bound areas.

There are timed cut-offs at checkpoints; for example CP3 at mile 15.5 must be vacated within six hours. The event provides live tracking and timing, aid stations with hot and cold food and drinks, a finisher meal and an event gift.
