Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD)
The Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k starts and finishes in Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. The course covers 50 km with a total ascent of 1260 m and visits locations such as Malham Tarn and Buckden Pike, with sections along the Dales Way.
Terrain includes runnable trails, boggy moorland and sustained hill climbs between valleys. The event is open to walkers and runners and is self navigated with no way markers and few marshals; map reading, navigation skills and fell experience are required.
Organisers provide a GPX route file for the 50k. For the longer events there is route choice between checkpoints subject to event rules; the 25k is a fixed route and its GPX must be followed. A checkpoint cut off is in place for CP3 (mile 15.5) at six hours.
Services included as part of the event entry are route GPX, live tracking and timing, aid stations with hot and cold food and drinks, a finisher meal and an UTYD gift. Minimum age for entry is 20 years. The event uses a mix of open paths and private access with specific out of bound areas defined by the event rules.
