Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k
The Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k starts in the village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales and covers a measured distance of 50k with total ascent of 1260 m. The route passes Malham Tarn, Buckden Pike, sections of the Dales Way and Quant Dales villages. Terrain includes runnable trails and boggy moorland with hill climbs between valleys.
The event is open to walkers and runners. It is a self navigated event with no way markers and few marshals, so map reading, navigation skills and experience on the fells are required. Organisers provide GPX files for the 100k, 50k and 25k. Competitors on the longer distances have route choice between checkpoints within the event rules on out of bounds areas; the 25k follows a fixed route and the GPX must be followed.
Support and services listed for the 50k include live tracking and timing, aid stations offering hot and cold food and drinks, a finisher meal and a UTYD gift. The minimum age to enter is 20.
