Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD)
The Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales is a 50 km self navigated event that starts in the village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. The course records a total ascent of 1260 m and is open to walkers and runners who meet the minimum age requirement of 20.
The route passes Malham Tarn, Buckden Pike and sections of the Dales Way. Terrain includes runnable trails, boggy moorland and sustained climbs between valleys. A GPX file is provided for the 100k, 50k and 25k routes. Entrants may choose their own route between checkpoints for the longer distances so long as event rules and out of bound areas are respected; the 25k is a fixed route and its GPX must be followed.
This is a largely unmarked event with few marshals, so map reading, navigation skills and fell experience are required. Event services listed for the 50k include live tracking and timing, aid stations with hot and cold food and drinks, a finisher meal and an UTYD gift. The event is organised by Due North Events.
