Punk Panther Yorkshire Reservoir Dogs
The Yorkshire Reservoir Dogs event offers a selection of three distances through the scenic landscapes of Yorkshire. The routes are designed to pass by multiple bodies of water, providing runners with waterside vistas throughout the race.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 13 miles (Half marathon) with approximately 1400 feet of ascent.
- 20 miles with approximately 1900 feet of ascent.
- 32 miles (Ultramarathon) with approximately 3500 feet of ascent.
The course visits several reservoirs including Lindley Wood, Swinsty, Fewston, Thruscross, John O’Gaunt, Beaver Dyke, and Scargill. The longest route also incorporates Eccup reservoir. Other notable areas along the trails include Stainburn Forest and Almscliffe Crag.
The event is open to individuals aged 18 and older. Runners are permitted to participate with dogs, though animals are not allowed inside the registration and finish venue at The Bridge Church. For the ultramarathon distance, all participants are provided with a GPS tracker; trail race participants have the option to hire one.
Checkpoints are positioned along the course providing water, soda, energy bars, and crisps. All finishers receive a medal and an event T-shirt, and various food options such as hot chilli and cheese toasties are served at the finish line. Registration takes place at The Bridge Church in Otley, with parking available nearby at the Craftsman Tools car park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
