York Sprint Triathlon at York College
The York Sprint Triathlon is a one-day sprint triathlon held at York College in York, Pennsylvania on June 19, 2027. The event features an indoor pool swim, an open road bike course with hilly sections, and a flat out-and-back 5K run.
Distances include:
- 500 yard indoor pool swim
- 13.5 mile hilly bike course on open roads
- 5K flat out-and-back run
Race categories include individual entries and 2‑person or 3‑person relay teams. Individual athletes must be turning 12 or older in 2027. Relay team members for the swim or run may be as young as 9, while the cyclist on a relay must be turning 12 by the end of 2027. Athletes under 18 require a parent or guardian signature and must complete the full course distance.
A free beginner triathlon clinic at York College is scheduled the day before the race to review course details, transitions, gear preparation, and basic bike maintenance. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day outside the York Natatorium.
Age groups and relays will be seeded and assigned corral and start times based on estimated 500 yard swim times to reduce crowding on the pool deck. Spectators may watch on the pool deck only when their athlete is being ushered in via the main entrance. Parking near the finish area may be restricted until bikers clear the course.
