Event Overview

The York County SPCA Tails on the Trail 5K is a 5 km run/walk event. It is described as a community-focused, inaugural event taking place on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The event benefits animals in need at the York County SPCA, with proceeds supporting sheltering, medical treatment, and rehabilitation.

Location & Course

The event is based at WellSpan Park in York, Pennsylvania. The starting line is located at Keystone Kidspace. The course uses a portion of the Northern Extension of Heritage Rail Trail County Park. Participants will run to the end, just past a bridge near the 4-mile marker, and then loop back along the same course to the finish.

Participant Information

The event is open to runners, walkers, and participants with dogs. Dogs are welcome on a non-retractable leash and must be up-to-date on vaccinations. A suggested donation of $10 per dog is encouraged. Families and children are also encouraged to participate. Registration includes an event t-shirt for those who register by a specified date in early March. Same-day registration is not available.

Fundraising & Sponsorship
