YMCA River Run : 42nd Annual
The YMCA of Southeastern Alberta presents the 42nd annual River Run in Medicine Hat. This is a charity event that supports local YMCA programs and services, including the Strong Kids Campaign. The event is open to people of all ages and abilities.
When and where: June 20, 2026, Downtown YMCA, 150 Ash Ave SE. Registration opens March 13, 2026 and closes June 17, 2026. No refunds after June 10, 2026.
Known pricing periods:
- Extra Early Bird until April 5, 2026: Youth $20, Adult $35, Senior $25.
- Early Bird April 5 to May 3, 2026: Youth $25, Adult $40, Senior $30.
- Regular pricing May 3 to June 17, 2026: Youth $30, Adult $45, Senior $35.

All routes use city pathway systems with limited road crossings. Prize medals are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finishers in each category: Youth (17 and under), Adult (18-59), Senior (60 plus); placement medals are awarded after verification. Volunteers are invited to assist, and donations are accepted year-round with charitable tax receipts for contributions of $20 and up.
