YMCA River Run : Medicine Hat, June 20, 2026
The YMCA of Southeastern Alberta presents the 42nd annual River Run, a charity event that supports local YMCA programs and the Strong Kids campaign. The event is held at the Downtown YMCA, 150 Ash Ave SE, in Medicine Hat on June 20, 2026.
Multiple route options are offered:
- 21.1 km route
- 10 km route
- 5 km route
- 3 km route
All routes make use of the city pathway system with limited road crossings. Placement medals will be awarded to the first, second, and third finishers in each age category: Youth (17 and under), Adult (18 to 59), and Senior (60 and over). Medals are presented immediately after placement verification.
Registration opens March 13, 2026 and follows tiered pricing: Extra Early Bird rates through April 5, Early Bird rates through May 3, then regular pricing until the registration deadline of June 17, 2026. There are no refunds after June 10, 2026. The event also engages volunteers for duties such as registration, course guidance, and finish line support. Donations are accepted year round and charitable tax receipts are issued for qualifying contributions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
