Rattler Run
The 2026 Rattler Run is the 47th annual event hosted by Medicine Hat College and takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026. All distances start and finish in front of the college main doors and use courses identical to the 2025 routes.
- 3 km: a flat, scenic loop around the college grounds.
- 5 km: the 3 km course plus a short trip into Kin Coulee Park via the Bandshell Loop and College Avenue hill.
- 10 km: the 5 km course plus a loop around Kin Coulee Park and the Ajax Trail.
The event accommodates runners, walkers, and participants using wheelchairs or strollers. Early bird online registration and payment are open; entries are limited to the first 1000 entrants. A group rate offers a $5 deduction per entry for groups of five or more, and special pricing is available for school run clubs with ten or more students.
Chip timing and results are provided by Sprint Line Events. Age-category classifications apply for each distance. Medals are awarded to the top three in each age category, and cash prizes of $100, $60, and $40 are offered to the first three overall men and women in both the 5 km and 10 km races. Participants receive a race memento and discount coupons, and post-race refreshments are provided. Race bib, swag, and pre-ordered shirts can be picked up the day before the event, with limited pickup on race day. Volunteers receive a 2026 volunteer t-shirt.
