Rattler Run - Medicine Hat College
The Rattler Run is an annual road and trail event hosted at Medicine Hat College’s main campus in Medicine Hat, AB. The event offers three course distances: a loop on college grounds, an out-and-back into Kin Coulee Park, and a longer route that includes park trails and the Ajax Trail. Chip timing is provided by Race Pro Timing and live, online results are available after finish. Medals are awarded to the top three in each age category for all distances, and finishers receive a downloadable certificate and a race memento. Cash prizes are offered for overall 1st to 3rd places for men and women in the 5 km and 10 km races; overall places are determined by gun time.
Course, registration, and race-day logistics
Courses start and finish in front of the college main doors. Distances:
- 3 km - loop around college grounds
- 5 km - 3 km course plus Kin Coulee Park via Bandshell Loop and College Avenue hill
- 10 km - 5 km course plus a route around Kin Coulee Park and Ajax Trail
Registration uses early bird and regular pricing, with group discounts for five or more entrants and special pricing available for school run clubs of 15 or more students. Entries are limited to the first 1000 entrants. Race bibs, race swag, and pre-ordered shirts are available for pickup the day before the race, with limited pickup on race day. Vehicle access to the college grounds on race day is restricted to the Cultural Centre entrance; designated parking is in the Library, West, North, or Cultural Centre lots only.
