Rattler Run
The 2026 Rattler Run is the 47th annual race hosted by Medicine Hat College on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event allows participants to run, walk, or push (wheelchairs and strollers) on courses that start and finish at the college main campus.
Distances offered:
- 3 km : a flat, scenic loop around the college grounds.
- 5 km : the 3 km loop plus a short out-and-back into Kin Coulee Park via the Bandshell Loop and the College Avenue hill.
- 10 km : the 5 km course extended with a route around Kin Coulee Park and along the Ajax Trail bike path.
Registration is primarily online and entries are limited to the first 1000 entrants. A group rate deducts $5 per entry for groups of five or more, and special pricing is available for school run clubs with ten or more students. Entry fees vary by age group and distance.
Race bib and preordered t-shirt pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the college main foyer, with limited pickup available on race day. Chip timing and results are provided by Sprint Line Events. Awards include medals for the top three in each age category for all distances, a race memento and discount coupons, post-race refreshments, and cash prizes for first, second and third overall men and women in the 5 km and 10 km events. Vehicle access to the college on race day is available only through the Cultural Centre entrance; recommended parking lots are Library, West, North, and Cultural Centre.
