YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley McCarthy-Bush Turkey Trot
The YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley McCarthy-Bush Turkey Trot is the 40th annual Thanksgiving morning event in downtown Davenport, held at the R. Richard Bittner YMCA on November 26, 2026. The program includes multiple chip timed races, a kids race, and a virtual participation option.
The event features these distances and formats:
- 1 mile chip timed
- 5K chip timed
- 5 mile chip timed
- Kids races for ages 2 to 10, 200 m and 400 m
- Out of Town Trotter virtual option with shirt and bib
Registration opens June 5, 2026. Registration for the main chip timed races closes September 8, 2026; registration for the kids race and the virtual option closes on November 26, 2026. Stated fees are $35 for the 1 mile, 5K, 5 mile and virtual entries, and $17 for the kids race.
Kids ages 2 to 5 run a 200 meter dash and kids ages 6 to 10 run a 400 meter dash to the Turkey Trot finish line. Runners and walkers may participate in the chip timed races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
