YMCA Firecracker 5K - Seven Valleys
The event is a 5K run/walk held on the York County Heritage Rail Trail at the Seven Valleys trail access area on Church St, Seven Valleys, PA. The course uses a flat out and back route on a wide, well maintained rail-trail surface with packed stone footing and a clearly marked turnaround. The route proceeds south toward Hanover Junction and returns to the finish at the trail access.
Registration opens April 30. The race fee is $30 and the fee increases on June 15. Runners registered by June 26 are guaranteed a moisture wicking race shirt. Registration closes on race day.
Timing is chip based by Black Cat Timing. The event uses a gun start with no starting mat; finish time is recorded when a runner crosses the finish mat. Strollers are permitted but are requested to stay to the right on the course for runners to pass safely.
Age divisions for male and female categories begin at 8-10 and continue in standard intervals up to 70 and over. Awards include overall male and female winners and first through third place in each age division. An awards ceremony will follow the race at 7:00 PM.
Packet pickup is available Thursday, July 2 at Little Creek Golf Course pavilion and on race day at the Seven Valleys rail trail access parking pavilion.
