Event overview
The YMCA Families ON! Challenge is a family-oriented, in-person run scheduled for May 2, 2026 in Raleigh, NC at A.E. Finley YMCA (9216 Baileywick Rd). The event is presented as an inclusion event by Fit & Able Productions and is open to participants of any age or ability. The course is self-paced and described as approximately 2+ miles with more than 20 creative on-course challenges.
Course and race logistics
The course runs around the Finley YMCA campus and includes dirt, grass, paved sections, and natural trails with a few easy hills; surface conditions depend on recent weather. Course features listed include playing in mud and a large slip-and-slide. An athletic trainer will staff a medical tent near check-in and a self-serve water station will be available on course; participants are also advised to carry their own water. No dogs or bikes are permitted. Strollers must be registered, numbered, and properly buckled and must be accompanied by a registered parent; helmet use for children in strollers is strongly encouraged. Headphones are strongly discouraged for safety.
Registration, fees and souvenirs
There are separate individual entries for YMCA members and non-members. Published fees are $22 for YMCA members and $25 for non-members, with a stated price increase after December 31, 2025. Shirts are included with registration if signed up by April 15, and all finishers receive a medal. Online registration closes on May 1; there is no race-day registration.
