Event details

The YFC Seeley Lake Challenge Triathlon/Duathlon takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Riverpoint Campground, Boy Scout Rd, Seeley Lake, MT 59868. The program includes solo and team swim events, a duathlon and team duathlon, a solo mini swim, and two kids triathlon categories. Adult swim distances are:

  • Mini - 150 yds
  • Short - 300 yds
  • Long - 600 yds

The kids triathlon is open to ages 5-12, split into an 8-and-under category and a 9-12 category.

Course and logistics

The swim is in open water; wetsuits are not required according to the organizer. The running course is mostly on trail shaded by old growth Western Larch trees and is about 3 miles. The bike course covers about 7.8 miles on a mix of paved county road, dirt road and trails; the Boy Scout bridge is closed until 2027. The race uses a 3-second staggered start from the transition area. All racers, including children, are chipped and finish times are immediately available for printing and on devices.

On-site registration is available at the venue. Racers must park at Pyramid Mountain Lumber; there is no parking at the race site. Fees include parking, shuttle service, a race chip, snacks and medals for winners; a T-shirt is provided for registrations completed before July 15.
