YFC Seeley Lake Challenge Triathlon/Duathlon
The YFC Seeley Lake Challenge Triathlon/Duathlon takes place on Saturday August 1, 2026 at Riverpoint Campground in Seeley Lake, Montana. The event features triathlon and duathlon formats, team categories, and separate kids races for ages up to 12.
Adult swim distances:
- Mini - 150 yds
- Short - 300 yds
- Long - 600 yds
Swims are held in open water and wet suits are not necessary according to the organizer. The run course is mostly on trail, shaded by large old growth Western Larch trees, and measures about three miles. The bike course covers about 7.8 miles on a mix of paved county road, dirt road, and trails; the county has closed the Boy Scout bridge until 2027. The duathlon uses the same run and bike courses.
All racers are chipped, including children, and finish times are available for printing and on devices. The race uses a three second staggered start from the transition area to reduce congestion. Registration takes place at the venue and T shirts are distributed to those who register before July 15.
Logistics note: everyone must park at Pyramid Mountain Lumber since there is no parking at the race site. A shuttle and spectator parking are provided. Included in racer fees are parking, shuttle, a race chip, snacks, and medals for winners. Spectators must stay out of the transition area by using the designated trail from the finish area to the beach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
