YFC Seeley Lake Challenge Triathlon & Duathlon
The event is held at Riverpoint Campground in Seeley Lake, Montana. It offers triathlon and duathlon formats for solo competitors and teams, plus two kids divisions. The triathlon uses open water for the swim; wetsuits are not required because the water temperature is described as reasonable.
The courses include a run on mostly shaded trail through old growth Western Larch trees and a bike route that follows a mix of paved county road, dirt road and trails. The county has closed the Boy Scout bridge until 2027, which affects the bike route. Staggered starts are used to reduce congestion and all racers are chipped; finish times are available immediately for printing and on devices.
Packet pickup and registration at the venue take place in the Riverpoint Campground day use area on the day before and the morning of the event. T-shirts are distributed at packet pickup for those registered before July 15. Parking is not allowed at the venue; all vehicles must park at Pyramid Mountain Lumber with shuttle service to the site. Included with racer fees are parking, shuttle, a race chip, snacks and winner medals.
Kids races use the outer swim buoys and allow life vests; parents may follow inside the buoys. The kids bike and run use portions of the adult run trail and finish at the same line as adults. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
