YFC Seeley Lake Challenge Triathlon and Duathlon
The event takes place at Riverpoint Campground in Seeley Lake, Montana and includes triathlon, duathlon and kids races. Swim portions take place in open water; wetsuits are not required because the water is described as a reasonable temperature. All racers use chip timing and finish times are immediately available for printing and on devices.
The running course is mostly on a trail shaded by old growth Western Larch trees and is about 3 miles for adults. The bike course uses a combination of paved county road, dirt road and trails. The organizer notes the county has closed the Boy Scout bridge until 2027. The race operates a staggered start from the transition area to reduce congestion, and teams and solo entrants line up by preference.
Onsite registration and packet pickup occur at the Riverpoint Campground day use area on the day before and the day of the event, with T-shirts distributed to those registered before July 15 during those registration periods. Parking at the race site is not allowed; everyone must park at Pyramid Mountain Lumber. A shuttle runs between the parking area and the venue and drop off at the end of the road is allowed for walking or biking in.
Distances and formats include:
- Adult triathlon swim distances: Mini 150 yards, Short 300 yards, Long 600 yards.
