Event Overview
The Year of the Horse Bridle Trails event takes place at Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland, Washington. It offers a 5-mile or 10-mile trail race on a Saturday in April. The course provides water, sports drink, and energy gel approximately every two and a half miles, along with first aid.
Race Details
Participants run on trails within the state park. The 10-mile race involves completing the 5-mile loop twice. A bib must be worn on the front torso for photo finish timing. Racers must pass through two red cones at the finish line to be scored.
Amenities and Logistics
Race registration includes a t-shirt and a finisher medallion. Refreshments at the finish line include hot Chinese baozi, apples, oranges, and bananas. Top finishers in each distance and gender category receive a custom-designed horse trophy and a Starbucks gift card.
Parking is available along the roadside for free. If parking within Bridle Trails State Park, a Discover Pass is required, which costs $15 per day or $45 per year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
