Yanmar America 5K
The inaugural Yanmar America Charity 5K is a community running event held at the Calhoun City Recreation Department in Calhoun, Georgia. The event features a 5 km distance that participants can complete by walking, jogging, or running. The course is described as fast and flat, winding around Black and Gold Park.
The race follows a route that begins and ends within the park grounds at 10 McDaniel Station Road. Ample parking is available for participants in the areas adjacent to the ball fields and the start-finish line. Registration is open to the general public with specific pricing tiers for adults and youth participants aged 18 and under.
The event proceeds benefit The Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter. Following the race, an awards ceremony recognizes several categories of participants. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top masters male and female winners. Additionally, the top three finishers in various age groups are acknowledged, with categories ranging from 10-under to 70 and over.
