Y2Y North Downs Trek / Run
The Y2Y North Downs Trek/Run is an event in its 19th year. It follows the North Downs Way through the Surrey countryside. Participants can choose between two distances:
- A 26.2-mile marathon, which starts in Guildford.
- A 14-mile route, which starts from Ranmore Common.
Both routes finish at YMCA East Surrey in Redhill. The course is well-marked with views and undulating landscapes.
The event provides refreshments at support stops along the route. At the finish, there are showers, changing facilities, cake, and hot and cold drinks. Each route has experienced leaders or backmarkers for navigation. The event is open to participants aged 18 and over.
Entry costs £30 for the marathon or £25 for the half-marathon. The fee includes a commemorative medal, a technical t-shirt, and refreshments at support stops. Transport to the start points has sold out, so participants must arrange their own travel.
All money raised from the event goes towards the YMCA East Surrey Life Change Fund, which supports charitable projects for young people. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
