XTERRA Portland
XTERRA Portland is an off-road sports event held at Hagg Lake in Gaston, Oregon. As part of the XTERRA World Tour, the event focuses on trail-based competition, utilizing the Henry Hagg Lake Trail Loop for the cycling and running portions of the races.
The event features several off-road triathlon distances:
- Full Distance Triathlon: Includes a 1 km swim, 27.5 km bike, and 8 km run.
- Sprint Triathlon: Consists of a 500 m swim, 21 km bike, and 5 km run.
- Super Sprint Triathlon: Features a 200 m swim, 6 km bike, and 2 km run.
The bike and run legs take place primarily on lake-side trails. Participants are required to use mountain bikes, as gravel bikes are not permitted on the course. While wetsuits are generally allowed for age group racers if water temperatures are below 78F, they are not mandatory. Relay teams are permitted for both the full and sprint distance categories.
The venue is located at Bobcat Cove, with designated participant parking at Boat Ramp C. The event also includes a Kids Splash & Dash and serves as a qualifier for the XTERRA World Championship and the XTERRA Youth Tour. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
