XTERRA Portland
XTERRA Portland is an off‑road triathlon event on August 1, 2026, held at Bobcat Cove on Hagg Lake in Gaston, Oregon. The event is organized by XTERRA and is part of the XTERRA World Tour. The venue uses Boat Ramp C for parking with an easy walk to the race site.
Race formats at the event include:
- Full Distance Triathlon: Swim 1 km, Bike 27.5 km, Run 8 km
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 500 m, Bike 21 km, Run 5 km
- Super Sprint Triathlon: Swim 200 m, Bike 6 km, Run 2 km
The majority of the bike and run courses are on trails. A mountain bike is required for the event. Wetsuit use follows USA Triathlon guidance and is permitted depending on water temperature. Relays are allowed in the full and sprint distances.
Additional activities listed for the weekend include a kids Splash & Dash, camping at Hagg Lake, and local area exploration in Tualatin Valley. Qualifiers at this event earn World Championship slots with the option to compete in either the 2026 or 2027 XTERRA World Championship. Volunteers support roles such as course marshal and timing; volunteers receive an event t shirt, food, and may be eligible for a complimentary race entry. Participants receive one complimentary meal ticket redeemable at the onsite Birrieria Don Pepe food truck with a taco plate or burrito as options.
