XTERRA Portland, Gaston, Oregon
XTERRA Portland is scheduled for August 1, 2026 at Hagg Lake with the race venue at Bobcat Cove. The event is part of the XTERRA World Tour and comprises multiple off-road race formats for adults and children, held around the lake and on surrounding trails.
Race distances and formats include:
- Full Distance Triathlon: swim 1 km, bike 27.5 km, run 8 km
- Sprint Triathlon: swim 500 m, bike 21 km, run 5 km
- Super Sprint Triathlon: swim 200 m, bike 6 km, run 2 km
- Duathlon: bike 27.5 km, run 8 km
- Kids Splash Pedal Dash + Slide: splash swim, pedal bike, slide run
Course and equipment notes state that the majority of the bike and run legs are on trails. A mountain bike is required for the Full Triathlon and the Duathlon; the Super Sprint allows most bikes except electric models. Relay teams are permitted. Swim guidance indicates wetsuits have been allowed in past years but are not required. For the Super Sprint the swim follows the shoreline and use of a life vest is permitted; parents may accompany younger athletes outside transition areas and supervision rules apply for certain youth ages.
Logistics information notes that parking for the event is at Boat Ramp C grass lot, onsite packet pickup and registration are available around race day, and camping for athletes is permitted the night before the event for a fee of $40 per vehicle plus $5 per person.
