2026 XTERRA North American Championship
The 2026 XTERRA North American Championship is a multi-day off-road sports event held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. The competition features a variety of triathlon distances and trail running options scheduled across several days in May.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Full Distance Triathlon: A combined course featuring a 1.5 km swim, 33 km mountain bike, and 10 km trail run.
- Sprint Triathlon: A shorter off-road triathlon available for individual participants or relay teams.
- Super Sprint Triathlon: A brief distance off-road triathlon including a youth championship category.
- 5K Trail Run: A standalone trail running race held on Saturday.
- 10K Trail Run: A standalone trail running race.
The full-distance triathlon serves as a qualifying event for the XTERRA World Championship, with 58 slots available for amateur athletes and a prize purse for those in the elite category. Relay options for two or three-person teams are available for both the Sprint and Full distance triathlons. Additionally, the Sprint and Super Sprint distances act as qualifiers for the XTERRA Youth World Championship and host the USAT Youth Cross National Championship.
