XTERRA North American Championship
The XTERRA North American Championship takes place May 21–23, 2027 at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. The weekend features off road triathlon formats and trail running events as part of the XTERRA World Tour, including a World Cup stop and Youth Championship races.
Races on the schedule include multiple triathlon distances and a family 5K trail run. Key race formats and course distances are:
- Full Distance Triathlon: Swim 1.5K, Bike 30K, Run 10K
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750M, Bike 14K, Run 5K
- Short Track Triathlon: Swim 400M, Bike 7.5K, Run 3K
- Super Sprint Triathlon: Swim 400M, Bike 7K, Run 2K
- 5K Trail Run: Run 5K
The weekend includes Youth North American Championship events for athletes aged 14 to 19 and will host the USA Triathlon Youth and Junior cross national championship. A festival atmosphere surrounds the racing with an expo, live music, food trucks, beer gardens, and kids races. Volunteer roles are available for course marshals, timing, and aid stations; volunteers receive an event shirt, food, and may be eligible for a free race entry.
All multi-sport athletes are required to hold a USA Triathlon license; a one-event Bronze membership can be purchased during registration and provides participant accident medical coverage for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
