XTERRA New Jersey takes place at Wawayanda State Park in New Jersey. The weekend event includes off-road triathlon, duathlon, trail runs, mountain bike and gravel races, and a paddle triathlon. The event lists 12 races, 28 World Cup slots, and 56 XTERRA Passes. On-site camping in group sites is offered. Event information is subject to change.
Races and format
- 42K Trail Marathon (XTERRA Pass Qualifier)
- 21K Trail Half Marathon (XTERRA Pass Qualifier)
- 5K and 10K Trail Runs
- 12K and 36K Gravel Bike races
- 22K and 44K Mountain Bike races (mountain bike required)
- Full Triathlon: 1000m swim, 39K bike, 10K run (individual or relay)
- Sprint Triathlon: 500m swim, 13K bike, 5K run (individual)
- Paddle Triathlon: 2000m kayak, 24K bike, 10K run (kayak, SUP, canoe)
- Duathlon: 5K run, 26K bike, 10K run
Timing is chip-based with ankle chips and five splits; results are posted online. The triathlon is sanctioned by USAT; trail runs are USA Track & Field certified; MTB and gravel races are USA Cycling certified. Historical lake temperatures range from 59 to 72 degrees, so the swim is expected to be wetsuit legal. Live music is scheduled on the beach during the event.
