Xterra Asia-Pacific Championship
The Xterra Asia-Pacific Championship is a multi-day off-road sports festival held at the Dunsborough Country Club in Western Australia. The event is part of the Xterra World Tour and the Xterra Trail Run World Series, offering participants the opportunity to qualify for World Championship events. The competition features various off-road triathlon and trail running disciplines set against the coastal scenery of Dunsborough.
The triathlon events take place on the first day and include a range of distances. The Full Distance Triathlon consists of a 1.5 km swim, 30.2 km mountain bike leg, and a 10.5 km run. For those seeking shorter distances, there is a Sprint Distance Triathlon featuring a 750 m swim, 15 km bike, and 5 km run, as well as a Super Sprint Triathlon and a dedicated Groms race for children under 9. Participants in sanctioned triathlon categories are required to hold a valid license from AusTriathlon.
The second day of the festival focuses on trail running with three distinct distances:
- 38 km Trail Marathon
- 21 km Trail Half Marathon
- 10 km Coastal Trail Run
The event includes an Expo Village at the Dunsborough Country Club, which serves as the central hub for athlete check-in and awards ceremonies. Community activities such as coffee runs, group rides, and course practice sessions are scheduled in the days leading up to the races. A professional medical team and water safety personnel are present throughout the competition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
