Event
Sandman XI is a beach ultramarathon held in Geographe Bay, Western Australia. The event is a 50 km point-to-point out-and-back course from the Old Dunsborough boat ramp to Busselton Jetty and back. The nominal race line is on the sand within 3 metres of the water’s edge. The next edition is scheduled for 1 February 2026. The event is listed by the Australian Ultra Runners Association.
Format, entry and policies
Entrants may run the full distance solo or enter as a two-person relay, with each team member covering 25 km and a changeover at Busselton Jetty. Entry fees in the published material are $70 for solo runners, $60 for members (member discount applies to solo entry), and $95 for a two-person team entry. Team registration requires the Team Captain to create the team, set an access code, and share that code for the second member to join. Published refund terms state a full refund minus a $20 administration fee for withdrawals made more than 14 days before the race; there is no refund for cancellations after that point. Tee shirts are nonrefundable; if a registrant withdraws or does not start, a purchased tee shirt will be posted to the address on registration.
