XTERRA Conquer the Crater : Greater Sudbury, Ontario (Jul 18-19, 2026)
XTERRA Conquer the Crater is an XTERRA World Tour event held in Greater Sudbury, Ontario on July 18-19, 2026. One hundred percent of proceeds support the Northern Cancer Foundation's Miles Against Cancer Fund, which assists children and families affected by paediatric cancer in Northeastern Ontario. The event lists 26 World Cup slots, 56 Trail Run World Series slots, and three triathlon categories. A range of on-site activities is planned, including a beer garden and music festival, a kids day, and an XTERRA expo. The organiser notes some information is not yet confirmed.
Races, waves and logistics
Races include multiple off-road triathlon, duathlon and trail-run formats:
- Full Distance Triathlon: Swim 1.5K / Bike 24K / Run 9K
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750M / Bike 13K / Run 4.5K
- Full Duathlon: Run 3.5K / Bike 24K / Run 9K
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 2.5K / Bike 13K / Run 4.5K
- Marathon Trail Run: Run 42K
- Half Marathon Trail Run: Run 21K
- Trail Runs: Run 5K / Run 10K
- Youth Races: Run 1K / 3K / 5K
Wave limits are specified: triathlons and duathlons have up to 30 spots per 10-year age-group/gender category; the 21K trail run has a maximum of 85 spots. Camping is available at Kivi Park (4472 Long Lake Rd) for $20 per night, first come first served; no fires are permitted, potable water is available only during race hours, and outhouses are available 24/7.
