WSU Pumpkin Run 5k & 1k
The WSU Pumpkin Run takes place at Wichita State University on October 17, 2026. The event includes in-person and virtual options and offers participant items and awards.
Distances:
- 5K in-person Pumpkin Run
- 1K Little Pumpkin Fun Run for children 10 and under
- 5K Virtual Pumpkin Run
Participants in the in-person events receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to top finishers in each age group and to overall winners. The Little Pumpkin 1K specifies that each child receives a T-shirt and finisher medal.
Registration details by event:
- Pumpkin Run 5K: registration opens June 1, 2026 and closes July 1, 2026; registration fee $27.00.
- Little Pumpkin Fun Run 1K (ages 0-10): registration opens June 1, 2026 and closes July 1, 2026; registration fee $17.00.
- Virtual 5K: registration opens June 1, 2026 and closes October 1, 2026; registration fee $37.00. Virtual participants receive the event shirt and finisher medal and may complete the run on their own schedule. Virtual participant race packets will be delivered or mailed after October 20, 2024.
A referral program provides a $15.00 discount to a registrant when five or more friends register using the same referral code. One dollar from every registration will be donated to Suspenders4Hope supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
