World Triathlon Cup Edmonton, Hawrelak Park, July 16 to 19, 2026
The event at Hawrelak Park combines World Triathlon Cup elite racing for men, women and a mixed relay with age-group and community multisport events. Several races provide qualification spots for the 2027 World Triathlon Multisport Championships and for the 2027 World Triathlon Championships.
Minimum age is generally 16 years for most events; the open para sprint triathlon has a minimum age of 15 years.
Main races and distances:
- Standard Aquathlon (national championship): Swim 1000M, Run 5KM.
- Do North Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750M, Bike 20KM, Run 5KM.
- Sprint Triathlon Team Relay: same distances, teams of 2 or 3 athletes.
- Sprint Duathlon (the only draft-legal event): Run 5KM, Bike 20KM, Run 2.5KM.
- Open Para Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750M, Bike 20KM, Run 5KM.
- Sprint Cross Duathlon: Run 4KM, Bike 12.5KM, Run 2KM.
- Sprint Cross Triathlon: Swim 500M, Bike 12KM, Run 4KM.
- Do North Open Water Swim: 750M, 1500M, 2250M options.
- Do North Enduro: four timed stages within a set race window; each stage must be completed at least once and the best time per stage counts toward the total.
Cross courses use single-track and double-track trails around Hawrelak Park and the River Valley. On-site amenities include food vendors, family activities and spectator information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
