World Marathon Challenge : 2027 edition
The World Marathon Challenge is an event in which competitors run seven official marathons on seven continents within a 168 hour window. Each marathon covers the standard distance of 42.2 km. The 2027 schedule covers arrival and briefings in Cape Town followed by marathons at Ultima Base in Antarctica, Cape Town, Perth, Dubai, Madrid, Fortaleza and Miami on consecutive days from January 30 to February 5, 2027. The itinerary notes a latest arrival date in Cape Town on January 27 and pre departure briefings on January 29.
The published entry fee for the 2027 event is USD 50,700. The fee includes a specialist jet flight from Cape Town to Ultima Base in Antarctica, international charter flights between marathon locations, meals on charter flights, professionally organised race events at each site, aid stations, medical support, contingency arrangements for Antarctic weather delays, shower facilities at all locations except Antarctica, and event media and merchandise such as photos, video, medals and t shirts.
The fee does not include international travel to Cape Town, accommodation in Cape Town before the charter, or the return flight home from Miami. Participants are expected to be in excellent health, to have appropriate clothing and equipment, and to consult their doctor before entering the World Marathon Challenge.
