World Giraffe Day 5K Run/Walk
The World Giraffe Day 5K is scheduled for June 20, 2026 at Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville, Texas. The event offers in-person and virtual participation. In-person options include a 5K cross country run and a 5K walk through the zoo before it opens to the public. A virtual challenge with limited spaces is available for remote participants.

Online registration opens March 18, 2026 and closes June 19, 2026. Registration fees listed for the events are $45 for the in-person run and walk, and $35 for the virtual challenge. The first 130 in-person participants who register online will receive a hand-crafted wooden race medal and a race t-shirt. Virtual challenge participants will receive a medal.
Frank Buck Zoo houses more than 130 animals, including giraffe. Frank Buck Zoo and Save Giraffes Now have partnered on giraffe conservation work since 2022. Save Giraffes Now is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization involved in multiple giraffe conservation projects and is noted in the event materials for its conservation work.
