Woofstock 5K and Walk-A-Thon
The Woofstock 5K and Walk-A-Thon is an annual fundraising event held at the Lions Pavilion in Collins Park, located in Scotia, New York. This event serves as a large outdoor festival that brings together dogs and their owners to support the animals at the Animal Protective Foundation (APF). The event proceeds go toward assisting thousands of animals cared for by the organization each year.
The event features two primary physical activities:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk-A-Thon
Participants have the option to compete solo or bring their dogs and family members along for the 5K course. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt and automatic admission to the subsequent music festival. While registration is required for most participants, children aged 12 and under may participate in the walk at no cost, though a paid option is available for those who wish to receive a runner’s bib and event merchandise.
The event concludes with a festival featuring live music, food vendors, and pet-friendly products. Local breweries provide refreshments, and attendees can browse various vendor stations throughout the park. This is a rain or shine event, and all registration sales are final. Incentives are provided for individual and team fundraising efforts, including additional apparel and prizes for those who reach specific donation milestones.
