Woodstock CT Marathon & Relay
The Woodstock CT Marathon & Relay takes place on May 2, 2026 in Woodstock, Connecticut (543 Route 169). The event features a full marathon of 26.2 miles and a team relay covering the same total distance. The race starts at the Woodstock Hill Common and finishes with a Finish Line Event at Taylor Brooke Brewery, 181 Route 171; the start and finish are at different locations.
The course runs through rural roads and backroads and includes rolling hills with nearly 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Runners should expect blind turns, some unpaved sections, and shared traffic. Emergency medical services will be on call, but in more remote sections an injured runner might wait more than 15 minutes for care. There is a strict six hour pace for the marathon; runners who cannot finish will be transported to the finish line by a designated pacer vehicle.
Relay teams consist of 2 to 5 runners with leg distances around 4.5 to 6 miles for five-person teams. Exchanges are at marked locations and teams are responsible for travel to and from exchange points. Every team member must register. Bibs are provided to runners; the final relay runner receives a special chipped bib and is responsible for wearing it across the finish line. Bib pickup is available Friday evening, May 1 at Taylor Brooke Winery or Saturday morning at the start line.
The event is a community fundraiser that has raised over $40,000 for Community Kitchens of Northeastern Connecticut and other local charities; registration proceeds support food access in the region. The 2026 theme is Totally 80s with costume prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
