About the race
The Woodstock CT Marathon takes place on May 2, 2026 in Woodstock, Connecticut, and offers both an individual **marathon** and a **marathon relay**. Relay teams can include **2 to 5 runners** who complete the full **26.2 miles** together. Teams share a single bib, with exchanges at designated points along the course for safety. Bib exchanges are planned at four main locations between the start at **543 Rte 169 / Woodstock Hill Common** and the finish at **Taylor Brooke Brewery, 818 Rte 171**. The marathon route follows open, rural roads with close to **2,000 feet of elevation gain**.
Parts of the course are unpaved and pass through remote areas, and some sections include blind turns for both runners and vehicles. Runners are instructed to run on the left side of the road and to follow road safety rules along the entire route. Emergency medical services are on call during the race, but in some remote sections an injured runner might wait more than 15 minutes for medical care. Participants are asked to enter the race only if they accept the risks linked to this course. The event supports **Community Kitchens of Northeastern Connecticut**, an organization that provides healthy, nutritious meals and works to reduce food insecurity in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut.
