Woodmonster Trail Race 2026
The Woodmonster Trail Race is a 10-mile trail event that starts and finishes at the Chabot Space & Sciences Center in Redwood Regional Park, Oakland, CA. The course follows a mix of single-track trails and ridge runs with multiple climbs, including the named Woodmonster climb. The route description lists West Ridge, East Ridge, Tres Sendas, Stream, French, Madrone, Chown and the Redwood Bowl as key segments and aid station locations.
The event is run as a handicapped race with staggered start groups based on age and a reverse handicap system. A team competition is included; the team with the most finishers receives four complimentary entries for Woodmonster 2027. Run for a Better Oakland (RBO) has been a major beneficiary in recent years.
Registration fees vary by date and membership status. Early bird pricing through April 30 is listed for members and non-members; regular pricing continues through June 26 with a reduced student rate for high school and college students. Race day pricing is also specified if entries remain.
Entry includes a short-sleeve finisher shirt. Water stations are located at Tres Sendas and the Redwood Bowl. Post-race snacks are provided to registered runners.
