16th Annual Woodforest Charity Run
The Woodforest Charity Run takes place in downtown Conroe, Texas, starting at Heritage Place Park. This annual event includes multiple distances and formats for runners and walkers. Participants can choose between in-person distances or a virtual option that allows for completion by the end of the following day.
The event offers several race categories:
- 10K (6.2 miles) running race
- 5K (3.1 miles) running race
- Barkley Shoe Dash for children ages 5-12
- Virtual 10K/5K for remote participation
The Barkley Shoe Dash is a specific event for children divided into two age groups: 5-7 and 8-12. During this race, participants start with one shoe and run 50 yards to a pile containing the shoes of all competing runners. After retrieving and putting on their own shoe, they run the remaining 50 yards back to the finish line.
Registration fees include a custom t-shirt for the event. Net proceeds from the race are directed to the Woodforest Charitable Foundation to support community initiatives. Packet pickup is organized at specific locations in The Woodlands and Conroe on the days leading up to the race, as well as on the morning of the event.
