Event
The Women's Trail Festival is a two-day trail event at Freedom Park in Williamsburg, VA (5537 Centerville Road). The weekend features packet pick up, social hours, educational talks and exercise classes, lunch and awards on both days. Entry fees include one race entry, a T-shirt (guaranteed size if ordered by March 1), one lunch, and access to the talks and classes. All finishers, whether hike or run, receive a medal. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Williamsburg House of Mercy and the Colonial Road Runners Scholarship fund. The event is Trail Sisters approved. Men may register but are not eligible for awards.
Courses
- 10 mile - loop course, a little over 10 miles
- 8k - follows the first 4-ish miles of the 10 mile course
The 10 mile loop includes about seven miles of single track mountain bike trail, roughly two miles paved, and some doubletrack. Elevation is about 700 ft per loop with rolling terrain and switchbacks. The 10 mile course has three aid stations at approximately 3.5, 4.8 and 8.5 miles. The 8k is primarily single track and finishes with about one mile of doubletrack; it has one aid station near 3.5 miles. Both distances offer hike and run options and have no time limits; participants in noncompetitive events may run if they choose.
Additional notes
Educational talks and exercise sessions are scheduled across the weekend. Participants who race one day may attend talks and classes on the other day while wearing their race number. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
