Womens Night Challenge
The Womens Night Challenge is a women-only night race in County Wicklow held on Friday 2nd October 2026. The event is organised as an introductory run/walk/hike on the Sugarloaf Way with a total distance of 7.00 km and a climb of 277 m. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are permitted. The event difficulty is rated 5, corresponding to easy terrain with typical ascent between 200 m and 500 m and distances between 6 km and 10 km.
Runners must carry mandatory Level A basic kit, specifically a showerproof, windproof jacket. In addition, trail running shoes and a torch suitable for running at night are compulsory, with a head torch preferred. A back-up torch or spare battery is recommended. The precise kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed at registration and participants must be able to carry their kit. Failure to have required items may result in refusal of entry or disqualification; random kit checks may take place.
The event will include a sweeper to support participants along the route. All race entry fees will be donated to Bray Women's Refuge. The finish area is at the local GAA club; access is via the N11 to Kilmacanogue and local roads to the GAA grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
