Women's Distance Festival Run & Walk 5k
The Women's Distance Festival Run & Walk 5k is the 39th annual ladies-only 5K event presented by the Albuquerque Road Runners Club. It takes place at Winrock Town Center in Albuquerque, at 2100 Louisiana Blvd NE.
The course is two loops around the outer perimeter of Winrock Town Center, with the start and finish on the east side of Winrock Park. Mile markers are posted at miles 1 and 2. Parking is available on the east side of Winrock Park and a First Aid station will be provided. All finishers receive special goodies.
Entry fees vary by membership status and registration timing: postmarked by May 24 : ARR and RRCA members $30, non-members $35; late registration : members $35, non-members $40; packet pickup or race day : members $40, non-members $45. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Winrock Town Park between Dillard's stores; pickup is also available on race day.
Age group divisions run from 0-14 through 75 and up, with standard five-year brackets for adult categories. Awards for the 5K run include top three overall finishers, top three masters, and top three in each age group. The 5K walk awards the top three overall finishers. Event proceeds benefit Running 505, a local wellness program for fifth to eighth graders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
